Eighteen-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Thomas Rew has been selected for England’s white-ball tour of Australia. The trip includes three one-day internationals and five Twenty20 matches, with several uncapped players receiving an opportunity.
Jacob Bethell is available again after a knee injury, while Jos Buttler remains absent following hamstring surgery. England’s leading fast bowlers will play the one-day matches before moving on to preparations for the Test tour of South Africa.
That change midway through the tour creates space in the Twenty20 squad. Henry Crocombe, James Coles and Eddie Jack join Rew among the newer options, making the selection both a competitive assignment and a chance to examine depth beyond established senior players.
