The WNBA has changed its finals schedule so the Atlanta Dream can host the Golden State Valkyries at State Farm Arena. Game 3 moves to 21 October, while Game 4 on 24 October will start at 1pm Eastern, earlier than originally planned.
The arena holds more than 17,000 spectators, compared with roughly 3,500 at Atlanta’s usual Gateway Center venue. Scheduling changes were needed around an existing concert and the Hawks’ home opener. The adjustment creates space for many more supporters to attend the championship series.
Atlanta has already used State Farm Arena for selected regular-season and playoff games and plans to make it its full-time home next season. This is the Dream’s first finals appearance in 13 years. The venue for a potential Game 6 remained unresolved because of another Hawks fixture.
