England has issued a record thirty-nine men’s central contracts alongside new split coaching arrangements under Stephen Fleming and Brendon McCullum. Team director Rob Key says the changes help plan the next two years.

Thirty players receive main contracts, compared with twenty-six previously, while nine gain development deals supplementing county income. The main group includes both one-year and two-year terms, with established players and emerging fast bowlers included.

Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jofra Archer and Jacob Bethell have extended agreements through 2028. The package combines continuity with investment in newer talent, while the coaching structure is intended to support future homegrown candidates for senior roles rather than merely change the personnel overseeing the current squads.
