Tampa Bay beat Cleveland 3–1 to tie the American League Championship Series at one game apiece. Freddy Peralta worked six innings, allowing four hits and striking out six, before the Rays bullpen protected the lead.
The decisive scoring came in the fourth inning after a fielding mistake by José Ramírez. A video review had earlier kept Victor Mesa Jr on base, and Liam Hicks later drove in two runs with a single. All three Tampa Bay runs were unearned against rookie starter Parker Messick.
Cleveland reduced the deficit through Chase DeLauter, but could not complete a comeback. Bryan Baker closed the ninth for another postseason save. The best-of-seven contest now moves to Cleveland for Game 3, with neither team holding a series advantage.
